MY MOM

Her hair is silver and her eyes are dim;

Her hearing is less than it always had been.

But her love is still warm

and her heart beat is strong.

And her prayers for me are still just as long.

I don't get to see her as often these days;

But I'm still touched by her in so many ways.

Her words of encouragement to all those she meets;

Lift so many spirits of those down and in need.

I know I can trust her to God's loving care;

'Cause He made her, dwells in her and I get to share.

In that lifetime of experience

She has poured out to me,

Kind of "passing the torch"

From her down to me.

I am who I am, largely from watching her.

Her kind, generous example of living,

She never held back to share what she had;

She was always loving and giving.

I pray I can be half the woman she is;

And I know by God's grace, I will be.

Thanks to my mother and the goodness of God

I AM ME.
